The Latest Ignored News

Have you read the latest news about the cutest squirrel in the world jumping in front of a young couple’s camera on vacation? Did you know that Michael Jackson’s brain wasn’t buried with the rest of his remains? How about the outrage over that evil Republican yelling “You lie!” to Obama, in the midst of another of his historical speeches? How horrific is the announcement that Oprah might quit her daytime show after this season, her only 19,678th in a row? Welcome to the Western mainstream media, where you get well entertained and superbly brainwashed, but never properly informed. The following are some of the profusely ignored news.

Ignored Kosovo and Metohija Province

NATO-formed Albanian police prevented some 80 members of the families of Kosovo Serbs kidnapped and killed in the southern Serbian province between 1998 and 2000 from reaching Velika Hoča to attend unveiling of the memorial to Serb victims of Albanian insurrection and terror.

Kosovo and Metohija Ministry issued a statement saying it is unacceptable for the interim authorities in Priština to block those who were on their way to Velika Hoča to honor the Serbs killed from 1998 until 2000.

Kosovo and Metohija Minister Goran Bogdanović said acts such as this are the best illustration of Kosovo interim administration’s treatment of Serbs and other non-Albanians in the province, speaking volumes about their vision of the multiethnic society.

“This puzzling move is deeply offensive, at the same time demonstrating that the temporary Kosovo institutions have no respect whatsoever toward the families of those killed and kidnapped. It also reveals their position toward the non-Albanian victims who died during the conflict in Kosovo,” Bogdanović said.

Meanwhile, Raška-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija Diocese reported yesterday that, in addition to the Peć Patriarchate and monasteries Gračanica, Gorioč and Devič, Priština Albanians have cut electricity off to the other Serbian Orthodox shrines and monasteries, including St. Archangels Monastery, Church of St. George, Sts Cyril and Methodius Theological University and Diocesan Residence in Prizren.

“It is a continuation of the offensive against the monasteries,” Kosovo-Metohija Bishop Artemije said.

On the same day United Nations noted the international problem of Serbian province of Kosovo has been prematurely and unjustifiably dropped by the mainstream media.

“10 Stories the World Should Hear More About”, published on Tuesday, is the latest list of subjects UN Department of Public Information (DPI) believes deserve greater global attention. Among them, “Kosovo Region”, the issue that is far from over, resolved and settled, despite the Western MSM insistence on treating it as fete accompli.

Since Reuters, AP, AFP, DPA and New York Times apparently believe accidentally photographed squirrel deserves more attention than the continuous ethnic cleansing of Serbian Kosovo province, it is no wonder it is virtually impossible to find the information that OSCE intends to shut down its Kosovo and Metohija mission, set up to protect the rights of non-Albanians in the province.

Russian Itar Tass is the world’s only news agency that reported on this, revealing the information was contained in the report on the situation in Kosovo province, submitted at a regular meeting of OSCE’s Permanent Council in Vienna, by the mission’s head Werner Almhofer.

Itar Tass said that the Russian government considers such a move, “under the guise of scaling down of international presence”, unacceptable.

“Such steps, sanctioned by no one, are unilateral, and they affect the overall activity under the mandate of that mission,” Russia’s ambassador to the OSCE, Anvar Azimov, was quoted as saying.

Ignoring the Inconvenient Bits from NATO Court in Hague

That Western MSM simply goes mum on the issues that contradict the common party line has been proven yet again in relation to the much advertised upcoming mock trial of another Serb in Hague, former Republic of Srpska President Radovan Karadžić.

So, no one in the West reported that presiding Judge O-Gon Kwon suggested the prosecutor should drop the charges related to two Markale marketplace shelling in Sarajevo (5 February 1994 and 28 August 1995), when dozens of civilians were killed and maimed. Kwon reminded the prosecution that there is a “controversy on which party was responsible for the shelling”.

In addition, Judge Kwon said that, unless the prosecutor has evidence President Karadžić personally fired the mortar shells, these crimes are not “representative” of the charges raised against Karadžić.

Needless to say, NATO prosecution cannot have any such evidence, since it has been established long time ago the shelling of the Sarajevo marketplace and a resulting massacre was a handiwork of Bosnian Muslims, two in a series of willfully committed war crimes in order to give NATO a pretext to bomb Bosnian Serbs. (Regarding the Markale Massacres, one should read about some of the evidence presented in the 16 January 1997 report by the U.S. Senate Republican Committee titled Clinton-Approved Iranian Arms Transfers Help Turn Bosnia into Militant Islamic Base, under the subtitle Self-Inflicted Atrocities)

On August 25, Karadžić asked the Hague council to request that France submits their intelligence documents on conclusions about the 1994-1995 Markale Massacre setups reached by the French investigators. He explained that French investigators operating within UNROFOR [UN Protection Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina] have established that Bosnian Muslim forces fired the mortar shells at the Sarajevo marketplace, and submitted a report about their findings, still classified confidential.

Karadžić stressed the well known fact that even former French Prime Minister Édouard Balladur confirmed to a reporter that Bosnian Muslims have “committed this carnage on their own people […] but at least they have forced NATO to intervene”.

Ignoring Unpleasant Reminders of Western Involvement in War Crimes Against the Serbs in Former Yugoslavia

Unclean French fingers and conscience represent another unpleasant reminder of the malignant role played by the most powerful Western governments in dismemberment of former Yugoslavia and Serbia, ethnic cleansing of the Serbs from Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo province, and the merciless drive to destroy Serbian lands and nation.

French daily Liberation yesterday reported that France was trying to prevent the Croat war criminal Ante Gotovina to come before the Hague court, fearing that his arrest could lead to revealing how the French intelligence services had helped the Croatian forces ethnically cleanse over 250,000 Krajina Serbs.

Quoting the diary of General Philippe Rondeau, the daily states that Rondeau, who was chief-of-staff of then Defense Minister Michelle Eloise-Marie in 2003, was a party to the talks on Gotovina’s surrender.

The minister was against bringing Gotovina to trial for “common interests,” as she put it, writes Liberation.

The daily explains that it was in France’s interests at the time to leave Gotovina at large in exchange for capturing another wanted indictee, although it is not clear exactly who.

The Hague chief prosecutor at the time, Carla Del Ponte, rejected the French proposal.

In his diary, Rondeau wrote that France feared that Gotovina’s arrest could lead to information being revealed on how the DGSE, French intelligence service, was helping the Croat troops.

16 Years Since the Medak Pocket Massacre

“This is a Serb Village, Slit All Throats!”

September 9 marks 16 years since the massacre Croat forces committed in the villages and hamlets south and southeast from the town Gospić in Serbian Krajina, called Medak Pocket (Medački Džep) — a UN safe haven — mutilating, raping, setting on fire and killing 88 Serbs. Memorial services to the victims were held throughout Serbian lands, and in the Church of Saint Mark in Belgrade.

Marking the event, Documentation Center Veritas reminded Croats left no wounded behind in the Serb-populated villages.

The only survivor, Ivanka Rajčević, gave a following testimony:

“My son and I were asleep in the house. It was around 6 a.m. when the first grenade hit one of the houses which immediately burst into flames. I called my son. He said: ‘Mam, we won’t leave the house because they are bombarding’.

“I heard one Ustasha circling around the house. He came to the window and saw me inside. He activated a hand grenade and threw it inside. When it exploded he stood back up to see if it killed me. I was only wounded, but I pretended to be dead. He went behind the house and fired an automatic rifle (…) The other ones came in front of the house afterwords, in a transporter and on the tank. They didn’t stay long, but four Ustasha stayed in front of the doors. They did not speak our language, I believe they spoke German [they probably spoke Dutch, another Germanic language, as it was established that 13 Dutchmen also took part in the massacre]. When two Ustasha joined them, they asked the interpreter to translate. He said: ‘This is a Serb village, slit all throats, even the cats! Kill everything, nothing must stay behind, including children.’

“A number of them wearing the black masks arrived, some thirty of them, maybe more. When they spread through the village I went to the other room to see if my son came back. He wasn’t there. I went out of the house so they wouldn’t burn me alive. I crawled through the fence hedges to escape. Inside one thick hedge I bandaged the wound and stayed there all night and during the next day…”

No Sign of Human or Animal Life

After the massacre, Croat forces handed over to Serbs 52 corpses. Members of the UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) serving in Croatia carried another 18 bodies, which were mutilated and set on fire, out of Medak Pocket. In the year 2000, 11 bodies were found hidden in the sewage pit.

Croat troops, aided by the Croat civilians from the region, plundered and then razed to the ground all three Medak Pocket villages — Divoselo, Čitluk and Počitelj and dozens of nearby hamlets, following the “scorched earth” policy of the Croat war leaders.

Of the 84 bodies found, 8 remain unidentified, while the remains of 4 of the Medak Pocket villagers are still being searched for.

Following the slaughter, which lasted from 9-17 September 1993, UN commander in Croatia French General Jean Cot, said that French and Canadian UN battalions “could not prevent the slaughter of the Serbs, including elderly and children, by the Croatians”, testifying that Croat troops “didn’t leave a cat alive” in Medak Pocket.

In the UNPROFOR Press Release published on 19 September 1993, General Cot made a following note: “I have found no sign of human or animal life in the several villages we passed today. The destruction is total, systematic and deliberate.”

UNPROFOR spokeswoman Shannon Boyd issued a press release in the Croatian capital Zagreb on September 18, 1993, in which she said: “UNPROFOR troops found at least 11 hamlets in the Medak Pocket completely destroyed […] It was assessed that the destruction was well organized, systematic and total. Homes were reduced to rubble by detonations and dead livestock littered the area.”

“The girls had been raped. Then shot. Then set on fire.”

Canadian troops testified that “all livestock had been killed and houses torched”.

Canadian peacekeeper Tony Spiess was one of many Canada’s soldiers who suffered nightmares after witnessing the devastation left by the savage Croat troops.

“The Croatian militia had been trying to keep the Canadian troops from uncovering their ethnic cleansing of a Serbian village, Spiess says, confirming accounts recreated in the 2004 book by Carol Off, titled The Ghosts of Medak Pocket: The Story of Canada’s Secret War.

Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, witnesses of the slaughter Croat troops committed in Medak Pocket. Part 1 (parts two and three available on YouTube).

“When the shooting, bombing and mayhem were finally over at Medak Pocket — with no Canadian deaths — one of the things Spiess remembers most was the odour of death, everything from horses to humans.

“The smell will never go away,” he said.

“As Spiess and his Canadian comrades walked into the destroyed Serbian village that the Croatians had tried to stop them from seeing, burning corpses were everywhere.

“Spiess perhaps most vividly remembers the bodies of two teenage Serbian girls hanging limp on chairs, their arms tied to the chairs behind their backs.

“They were still smoldering,” Spiess said. “It was total f—in’ devastation.”

“A chill sets in as he speaks.

“The girls had been raped. Then shot. Then set on fire.”

Epilogue: One Man Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison. That’s All, Move Along.

NATO court in Hague issued indictments against three Croat generals for Medak Pocket massacre. Kosovo Albanian Rahim Ademi and Croats Janko Bobetko and Mirko Norac were charged with crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and rules of war. Agim Ceku, another Kosovo Albanian butcher, was commanding the Croat troops which massacred Medak Pocket Serbs. He was never indicted for the committed war crimes. Instead, he was awarded the premiership in the transitional Kosovo province government under the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) administration.

According to the indictment, Croat civilians and troops “systematically plundered” the Serb populated villages and hamlets during and after the assault by the Croat armed forces, “removed personal goods such as electrical goods and furniture from buildings that were or about to be destroyed, removed animals and farm equipment, dismantled buildings and carried parts thereof away by truck”, they “systematically destroyed up to 164 homes and approximately 148 other buildings (and the contents thereof) by the use of explosives and fire”.

Hague’s chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte asserted that, during a week-long bloody orgy, Croat troops were mutilating and killing Serb villagers “by means of shooting, stabbing, cutting of fingers, severe beatings with rifle butts, burning with cigarettes, jumping on bodies, tying bodies to a car and dragging them along the road, mutilation and other forms of mistreatment”.

To illustrate the unparalleled cruelty of Croat troops, the Hague indictment emphasized the case of two women: Boja Pjevač, who was mutilated and then had her body desecrated, and Boja Vujanović who was burned alive “whilst being mocked”.

But there was no Hague trial to the Croat generals who led the pogrom against the Medak Pocket Serbs.

In September 2005 the Hague Council transferred the Medak Pocket case to Croatian judiciary, which promptly acquitted Rahim Ademi and sentenced Mirko Norac to an insultingly mild punishment — 7 years in prison, thus closing the books on Medak Pocket massacre.

One man sentenced to seven years imprisonment for three villages and eleven hamlets razed to the ground, 88 innocent lives taken in the most monstrous ways and the complete and total extermination of the Serb population in the region.

NATO-Nazi justice in full glory.

Nikola Tesla's Youngest Descendant, Serbian Refugee

In Croatia, Featured Articles, Weekend on June 25, 2009 at 10:11 am

Danijela Tesla
Danijela Tesla, great inventor’s youngest descendant, was only 5-years-old when she was forced to flee Croatia, along with all the Serbs from Krajina

Shameless Croats

Her name is Danijela Tesla, she is 18-years-old and lives in Smederevo, Serbian town near Belgrade. She is the youngest descendant of the “man who invented 20th century”, Serbian-born American immigrant Nikola Tesla.

Ever since the world’s greatest inventor — also regarded as “the greatest genius” that ever lived — closed his eyes in New York hotel on 7 January 1943, Tesla’s name and revolutionary inventions have been the subject of vicious contention between the governments, state officials and institutions, nations and corporations.

Recently, Walt Disney studio which wants to create a Tesla character for one sequence of their new animated film, had to ask Belgrade Nikola Tesla Museum — the only legal copyright owner of Tesla’s name and work — for permission. On the other hand, Croat designer Dragica Mihajlovic believes it is her God-given right to claim personal ownership of “all of Tesla’s intellectual-property rights”, an issue Tesla Museum intends to clear up.

Son of Serbian Orthodox priest Fr. Milutin Tesla and Đuka Mandić (herself a daughter of Serbian Orthodox priest, Fr. Nikola Mandić), Tesla was born on 10 July 1856 in Serbian Krajina (also known as Military Frontier — Vojna Krajina) in Austro-Hungary, today’s Croatia, which was populated with Serbian soldiers and their families by the Hapsburg Monarchy in 16th century, along the border with Ottoman Empire, as the last line of Western defense against the Turks.

Tesla, who was proud of his Serbian nationality and Orthodox heritage, said his “most exiting thought” in the struggle to achieve his ideals “on behalf of the whole of humanity,” was the fact “that it is a deed of a Serb”.

It is not surprising that Croats, who generally feel no shame over misappropriating the great inventor’s name and ethnic roots, see no contradiction in claiming Nikola Tesla as their own on the one hand and, on the other, committing monstrous genocides twice in 20th century against Tesla’s kith and kin — the Serbian population in Krajina.

The world can only thank divine providence Nikola Tesla was in United States and not in Serbian Krajina during WWII, at the time Croatia was a fascist state ruled by demented Ustasha butchers, when all of Krajina — including village Smiljan, Tesla’s birthplace — was drowned in Serbian blood, and 750,000 Serbs in Croatia were mutilated and slaughtered in Jasenovac, a complex of grisly Croat death camps.

Tesla’s Descendants were Subjected to Another Croat Pogrom of Serbs

Tesla’s descendants are a living proof of Croat hypocrisy and shamelessness, among them Danijela, who was only 5-years-old when Croat army under Franjo Tudjman launched another pogrom on Krajina Serbs, codenamed operation “Storm” (Oluja), in 1995. Without a father who passed away two years before, Danijela was forced to flee her village Raduč, where all the Teslas come from, with her mother Milka and more than 250,000 other Krajina Serbs. Their family house was dynamited and torched by the raging Croat army, but Danijela Tesla managed to reach Serbia.

“My father Dane is Nikola Tesla’s grand-grandchild — Nikola Tesla’s first cousin is the grand-grandfather of my father,” Danijela explains quietly, and only if asked.

She carries her name and heritage silently and unassumingly, along with the war scars, refugee status and life-long struggle for survival. Her mother works in Italy as a construction worker, to support herself and pay for her daughter’s education.

“She works at men’s jobs, painting, laying ceramic tiles, cementing… She was never doing that before, but she had to learn…,” Danijela said.

Although a talented artist, Danijela has decided to study economy since, as she puts it, “the life has taught me I can’t live off the love for art”.

She says she looks like her father, but the physical resemblance to her glorious ancestor is uncanny — the same gentle facial contours, same dreamy, introspective gaze, and refined, slender figure.

“My dad wrote two books. Tesla about Tesla was published in 1968, and Josip Broz Tito was among those who attended the promotion in Smiljan [in Serbian Krajina]. His second book, From Raduč to New York, was written in 1980,” Danijela said.

“I was in the seventh grade when I wrote an essay about Nikola Tesla where, in addition to all the data, I also included the family tree. It shows that my father Dane was Nikola’s grand-grandchild or, rather, that Nikola’s first cousin was my father’s grand-grandfather. My friends never realized my last name was connected to Nikola Tesla, and I never boasted about my heritage. I would only tell about it if someone asked,” Danijela told Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti.

Although the youngest, Danijela is not the last of Teslas. Her father had three brothers, all of them Tesla’s descendants from Raduč in Serbian Krajina and all presently living in Serbia — two in Belgrade and one in Leskovac.

After the Yugoslav civil war has ended, Milka Tesla submitted a request to Croat authorities for rebuilding of their destroyed family house in Raduč. When Milka and Danijela went to Zagreb to collect the necessary documents, Tesla’s kin were subjected to hostility and maltreatment, and police interrogation “like we were some criminals”. Even the Helsinki Board for Human Rights was forced to intervene in their defense — another nasty episode that speaks volumes about the Croat rights to Tesla’s name and legacy.

Croat Tycoon Suspected of Plotting State Coup in Bolivia

Bolivians Tear Down a Myth of Croat “Homeland War”

Branko Marinković, Croat tycoon in Bolivia lobbying for dismemberment of the Latin American state, is suspected of planning and organizing a coup attempt, failed after Bolivian security forces foiled a series of planned assassinations by the group of international mercenary terrorists, lead by Eduardo Rozsa Flores, a neo-Nazi war criminal who commanded the “International Brigade” of worldwide psychopaths within the Croat paramilitary troops during the civil war in former Yugoslavia, in the 1990s. Marinković’s close ties with the current U.S. Ambassador Philip Goldberg, called “Ambassador of Ethnic Cleansing” because of his role in dismemberment of Yugoslavia, are also under investigation by the Bolivian officials.

The latest probe into subversive activities of Croat emigration and especially examination of the criminal past and fascist ideology nurtured by the Croat paramilitary troops, including the notorious psychopaths gathered in Croatia’s “International Brigade”, had triggered an uproar of fury in Croatia and in the Croat communities worldwide.

Enraged by the unexpected scrutiny of the myth according to which instigation and fomenting of the civil war in former Yugoslavia in 1991, and subsequent genocide against Serbs in Croatia resulting in ethnically clean state, were all legitimate “actions” and part of the “war of liberation”, Croats have launched a veritable lynch campaign against Bolivian government and everyone who dares question the motives of the “defenders” in Croatia’s latest “homeland war”.

Consequently, following the latest revelations about the involvement of Croat paramilitaries in the assassination attempts of Bolivian state leadership, Croat Foreign Ministry warned it has instructed its representative in Chile, “who also covers Bolivia”, “to closely follow the situation in Bolivia and if necessary, have talks at the Bolivian Foreign Ministry”.

According to Croat media, their government also considers “sending a diplomatic note” to Bolivian state, to urge toning down of the investigation of the true character of all the “wars of liberation” Croatia lead in its short, rather nasty history.

Philip Goldberg, Ambassador of Ethnic Cleansing
Philip Goldberg, Ambassador of Ethnic Cleansing

But just in case the shit does hit the proverbial fan this time around, Croat government announced it is ready to distance itself from the mercenaries and psychos it took under its wing during the civil war in the 1990s — those who have unexpectedly found themselves under the unpleasant limelight of public attention:

“However, regardless of who it may be and how much someone deserves credit for the defense of Croatia, the Croatian government cannot be held responsible for the things former defenders are doing at present,” said Jadranka Kosor, minister for veterans and vice president of Croat government.

As far as Bolivians are concerned, nothing will succeed in shutting the floodgates: neither the violent knee-jerk reactions and “warnings” coming from nervous Croats, nor the pressure campaign orchestrated by the Western mainstream media eager to cover up the background of the recent events and shield the key figures involved in a failed coup attempt by portraying Bolivian President Evo Morales as a kook who invented the foiled plot and smearing Bolivian government by suggesting the three hired assassins were killed in cold blood.

Croat Tycoon and US Ambassador of Ethnic Cleansing

According to Bolivian media, neo-Nazi mercenaries who have plotted assassination of a number of Bolivian officials (including some opposition leaders) in an attempt to create chaos in Bolivia akin to the one used to dismember former Yugoslavia and tear the country apart, were in all probability hired by “Don Marinković”, tycoon of Croat nationality who lobbies against the state’s socialist government and leads the separatist movement in Santa Cruz, advocating secession of the richest Bolivian provinces.

nazis_bolivia
Marinkovic’s supporters drive around Santa Cruz sporting fascist insignia while advocating secession of Bolivian richest provinces

According to earlier reports, Marinković has close ties with the current U.S. ambassador in Bolivia Philip Goldberg, who was instrumental in fomenting separatist movements in former Yugoslavia.

A year ago, reporter Roberto Bardini offered less known, but entirely illuminating details about Goldberg’s long history of subversive activities and his connections with the main secessionist in Bolivia, Croat Branko Marinković.

“In the Bolivian diplomatic world, as an expert pusher of separatism, Philip Goldberg’s nickname is ‘the Ambassador of Ethnic Cleansing.’ Between 1994 and 1996 he was Special Assistant to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, one of the strategists behind Yugoslavian disintegration. He also promoted Serbia’s and Montenegro’s separation and was in Kosovo, where he fomented conflict between Serbian and Albanian forces,” Bardini wrote.

Balkanization of Bolivia

Balkanization of Bolivia
Bolivian cartoon comment of the illegal “referendum” Marinkovic staged for dismemberment of Bolivian state

Marinković, whose parents fled to South America after WWII since his father Silvio supported Croat fascists (Ustasha), is accused of becoming one of Bolivia’s richest men through plunder and illegal land grabs in areas inhabited by Guarayo Indians.

According to Bolivian media, Marinković and his compatriots living in Bolivia are trying to break up that country in the same way Croat secessionists have dismembered Yugoslavia in the 1990s. Marinković is accused of seeking to foment a civil war to create a breakaway country in the lowlands, exactly like Tudjman, aided by the Ustasha emigration, Germany and Vatican, has done in former Yugoslavia.

Even though Marinković vehemently denies these allegations, the New York Times quoted his direct threats of instigating a civil war in Bolivia, unless his separatist goal is supported and aided by the “international community” (presumably the same Berlin-Washington-London “international community” that supported violent dismemberment of Yugoslavia).

“If there is no legitimate international mediation in our crisis, there is going to be confrontation. And unfortunately, it is going to be bloody and painful for all Bolivians,” Marinković growled.

Pro-Ustasha Mercenary Terrorists Recruited from Montenegro

Simon Romero, chief New York Times correspondent from Bolivia, told Croat media that Bolivian reporters are investigating rumors the Croat oligarch was bringing pro-Ustasha mercenaries from Montenegro, a legal gray zone in the Balkans, regarded a safe-haven for smugglers and all types of criminals in the region, under the protection of Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, local mafia boss charged by the Italian prosecution for involvement in large scale smuggling operations since the 1990s.

On Friday, Bolivian security forces shot three and arrested two terrorists belonging to the group of neo-Nazi assassins plotting to behead Bolivian state leadership.

According to Bolivian police chief Victor Hugo Escobar, it was established the leader of the gang of terrorists planning to assassinate President Evo Morales among others, was Eduardo Rozsa Flores, a Spanish-Hungarian national who commanded the “International Brigade” within the infamous Croat paramilitary Zenga units, responsible for horrific atrocities and ethnic cleansing of Serbian population from their ancestral land in Slavonia and Serbian Krajina in Croatia during the 1990s. Flores was also accused of smuggling weapons and narcotics, as well as of killing a Swiss and British reporter who worked for the German EPA news agency and were investigating ties of the mercenaries in the Croat paramilitary troops with the Western fascist groups.

Of the two arrested terrorists, Croat Mario F. Tadic (58) also took part in Tudjman’s war against indigenous Serbian population.

Flores Accused of Murdering Two Reporters in Croatia

Recently thwarted series of assassinations by the international group of mercenary terrorists hired to behead Bolivian socialist government unearthed several unsavory characters suspected of committing war crimes on the territory of former Yugoslavia, while ethnically cleansing Serbs from their ancestral homes in Slavonia and Serbian Krajina in Croatia.

The following article from 1996, from Belgrade daily Politika, sheds more light on one of them — Spanish-Hungarian neo-Nazi Eduardo Rozsa Flores, also accused of murdering a Swiss and British reporter while serving in Zenga units, Croat paramilitary troops responsible for numerous atrocities against the Serbian population in Croatia.

Tracing War Crimes

By Radoje Arsenic, “Politika”, Belgrade, January 4, 1996

Eduardo Flores arrived in Croatia in 1991 as a correspondent of a Spanish weekly. Soon, he joined the infamous Croat paramilitary unit Zenga and became the commander of the “International Brigade”. Now, “Reporters without Frontiers” accuse him of killing two foreign correspondents in Croatia, Swiss Christian Wurtemberg and British photographer Paul Janks.

Eduardo Rozsa Flores, a journalist of Spanish-Hungarian extraction and a citizen of Hungary and Croatia, recently requested accreditation in the U.N. headquarters in Zagreb but was refused. A civilian UN official said that he had been vetted and that it was established that the said journalist was suspected of having committed war crimes and two murders, and “persons suspected of having committed murders are not given press accreditation”.

After a long investigation, the international journalists’ association, “Reporters without Frontiers”, prepared a comprehensive material and forwarded it to the United Nations Security Council which the expert group in Geneva published within its resolution 780. The essence of the said material is that Flores, the correspondent of the Catalonian weekly “La Vanguardia” of Barcelona and the commander of the “International Brigade” within the Croat Zenga’s which operated in Eastern Slavonia [under the leadership of self-declared Ustasha and indicted war criminal Branimir Glavas] at the end of 1991 and in 1992, is directly responsible for the death of two foreign journalists, Swiss Christian Wurtemberg and British photographer Paul Janks, who worked for the German EPA news agency.

Croat Officials Pinned Flores’ Murders on Serbs

According to the findings of the “Reporters without Frontiers”, the Swiss journalist was brutally murdered in the region of Osijek on 12 January 1992. The autopsy carried out in the Osijek hospital showed that the death had been caused by a rifle bullet and subsequent strangulation with hands and a rope. However, the statement issued by Croat officials said that Wurtemberg, who was in the brigade for about two months, “had been ambushed and killed by the Chetniks while on patrol”.

War criminal Flores and the other two assassins driven away in body bags
War criminal Flores and the other two assassins driven away in body bags. Santa Cruz, Bolivia, April 17 2009

But the facts are quite different and show that Wurtemberg joined the “International Brigade” in mid-November 1991 using a false identity and hiding his face behind a mask. As established by the “Reporters without Frontiers”, he was trying to investigate and disclose the facts about the war crimes of the “International Brigade” and its connections with ultra-rightist organizations in West European countries whence most of its members were recruited. He was also investigating the routes of trade in arms and narcotics.

During the last week of 1991, Spanish journalist Julio Cesar Alonso came to the headquarters of the “International Brigade” where he ran into his old friend Wurtemberg. Wurtemberg confided in him that he had left the Brigade a few days before and that he intended to return to Switzerland. Several days later, Alonso met with two members of the Brigade — one of them was its commander Flores (rewarded for his merits with Croatian citizenship), in the Zagreb “International” hotel. According to his subsequent testimony, Flores said he had uncovered that a Swiss was “a mole” in the Brigade.

Since Alonso knew that the only Swiss in the Brigade was his friend Wurtemberg, he hurried to Osijek to warn him. In the Brigade headquarters he met Flores again who told him with a smile: “By the way, we solved the problem of Christian. There is no more the problem of the Swiss.”

Although Croat officials claimed Wurtemberg had been “ambushed and killed by the Chetniks”, it is interesting that his laptop disappeared, while his diary was saved and given to his parents, but without several pages which were torn out.

Immediately after the murder of the Swiss correspondent, British photographer Paul Janks came to Osijek after he was informed about Wurtemberg’s death by his colleague who had expressed doubt in the official version Croats issued about Wurtemberg’s death. Janks began to ask questions about the death of his Swiss colleague and four days later (17 January 1992) was killed himself. Again, Croat official version was that he had been “killed by a Serb sniper”, with an accurate shot between the eyes from about 900 metres in the vicinity of the village of Brijest at the outskirts of Osijek.

Image from Flores' blog
Image from Flores’ blog; allegedly, Flores converted to Islam after participating in the Yugoslav civil war on the side of Croat paramilitaries

However, according to the “Reporters without Frontiers” and their findings submitted to the UN Security Council, it was determined as a fact that, at the time of the murder, a strong wind with sleet was blowing, so that such an accurate shot from the said range, as stated in the police investigation, was impossible.

In May of the same year, two photo reporters, Carl Finch and Richie Bell, met Paolo Bandini in Zagreb who had previously left the “International Brigade” and who told them that he had killed Chris Wurtemberg. Moreover, he claimed that he had done it “upon the orders of commander Flores”, as he called him. These two journalists publicly reiterated this accusation in September 1992 in “The Observer Magazine” of Liverpool.

Flores left the Croatian army in July 1992, having been commander of the sabotage and reconnaissance squad for 11 months and then the commander of the “International Brigade” of the Croat paramilitary troops, after which Tudjman promoted him in the rank of a major of the Croatian army, whereafter he was granted Croatian citizenship. Nothing was heard of him for almost three years (allegedly he frequently traveled between Chicago, Budapest and Osijek). Beginning last year, he joined the Community of Croatian Hungarians headquartered in Osijek and, according to his own statements, he is a good friend with Croat fascists, Ustashe Tomislav Mercep, Branimir Glavas and Vladimir Seks.

It is rumoured that former commander Flores now even writes poetry, but the “Reporters without Frontiers” hope that this new image of his will not hinder the expert commission to put the murders of the two journalists on its list of war crimes and to bring those who ordered their commission and those who committed them to justice in The Hague.

Ustasha Assassins Thwarted in Bolivia

Thwarted Assassination of Bolivian President by an International Fascist Group

Bolivian media reported their security forces broke an armed international group of neo-Nazi mercenaries that was plotting to assassinate top Bolivian leaders, including President Evo Morales and the vice president.

In a half-hour shootout against a gang of Croatian, Irish, Hungarian and Bolivian mercenary terrorists, police shot down Spanish-Hungarian Eduardo Rózsa Flores, Irishman Michael Martin Dwyer and Hungarian Árpád Magyarosi. In the anti-terrorist operation which started Thursday morning around 4:30 a.m. in Santa Cruz hotel Las Americas, two other assassins were arrested — Croat Mario F. Tadic and Hungarian Elod Toazo. An hour later, the operation moved to the apartments mercenaries rented in Santa Cruz suburbs Cotas a la Feria de Exposición, where a cache of the most advanced weapons and explosives were found, along with the documents linked to this terrorist group with fascist ideology, hired to destroy Bolivian socialist leadership.

According to Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera, this group is responsible for the bomb attacks on the homes of Minister Saul Avalos and Cardinal Julio Terrazas. It was also reported that Bolivian security forces have found a list of future targets, among them Santa Cruz’s opposition Governor Ruben Costas and German Antelo, and Bolivian President Evo Morales. The group was also tracking the movements of Vice President García Linera and Minister Juan Ramon Quintana.

“We will clarify who brought them from Ireland and Croatia to Santa Cruz, who paid for their tickets, who accommodated them, who informed them about the movement of the authority figures, how they obtained the C4 explosive, as well as what are the motives of those who are nurturing fascist ideology of the extreme right to get involved in the attempts of assassination and elimination of Bolivian state and political leadership,” Garcia Linera promised.

Assassins: Croat “War Hero” and Ustasha Descendant

According to Croat media, one of the terrorists gunned down by the Bolivian police forces, 49-year-old Eduardo Rózsa Flores was a volunteer in the Croat paramilitary troops — the notorious Zenga units lead by the self-declared Ustasha and indicted war criminal Branimir Glavas. Flores took part in the civil war and ethnic cleansing of Serbs from their ancestral lands in Slavonija and Serbian Krajina in Croatia during the 1990s. Croat media romanticized Flores in the previous years, writing flowery accolades to this mercenary dedicated to the fascist ideals.

Flores’ violent past includes charges of smuggling arms and drugs, and accusation of murdering two reporters in Croatia — a Swiss Christian Wuertemberg and a British photographer Paul Janks. One of Croat papers published an interview with him last year, claiming Flores was living in Hungary at the time, where he worked as an editor of the extreme right, fascist Hungarian political party Jobbik.

Another conspirator arrested by the Bolivan security forces Thursday morning, Croat Mario F. Tadic (58) also took part in the 1990s civil war on the territory of former Yugoslavia on behalf of Franjo Tudjman’s troops. He is a descendant of Croat Ustasha smuggled through the Vatican ratlines to Latin America after WWII. Bolivia, Chile, Brasil and Argentina were the main destinations German and Croat fascists were being smuggled to after the Second World War, to avoid facing justice.

Ustasha Movement Stronger than Ever

Croat Ustasha movement, “a movement which had blown up airplanes, assassinated ambassadors, planted bombs in movie theaters and airports and had prided itself on the extermination of hundreds of thousands of fellow Christians”, most recently fully resurrected and revitalized in the Tudjman-lead war for Croatia’s secession, is behind a number of terrorist acts committed both on the territory of former Yugoslavia and abroad, wherever the strong Ustasha emigration was formed thanks to the protection Ustashi enjoyed by United States and Vatican.

Bolivian President Morales warned that the same organization still exists and operates in Bolivia, stressing that police will continue to search for its members.

Tudjman's Police Minister Admits Croatia Started the War by Attacking Serbs

Serbs and Yugoslavia were Under Attack, Not Croatia

In the exclusive interview, Franjo Tuđman’s Internal Affairs Minister Josip Boljkovac admitted Croat leadership carried out planned attacks on Croatia Serbs in 1991, in order to start a war. “Tuđman wanted the war at any cost, following the concept according to which Serbs must disappear from Croatia,” Boljkovac said.

Croat media censored reports from Boljkovac’s testimony at the trial against former Osijek mayor Branimir Glavaš, war criminal responsible for horrific crimes against the local Serbs, concealing parts of his testimony which charge Croatia with instigating the war.

“During the testimony, Glavaš accused me of persecuting him because he destroyed the bridge on river Drava in Osijek [Croatia]. He claimed he had destroyed the bridge to protect the town from JNA [Yugoslav National Army] tanks, and I responded that, at the time, JNA was a regular army of an internationally recognized state, while Croatia, which was not recognized, was part of Yugoslavia. Then I explained who started armed conflicts in that part of Slavonija,” Boljkovac told Frankfurt-based daily Vesti.

In a sensational interview published on February 12 and carried by the several media outlets in Serbia, Croatia’s war-time minister of police said it was the Serbs and Yugoslavia who were being attacked in 1991, and not Croatia.

“Back then, in 1991, Serbs and Yugoslavia were under attack, not Croatia. Gojko Šušak, Branimir Glavaš and Vice Vukojević launched antitank rockets on Borovo Selo in order to provoke a war. The bridge in Osijek was destroyed for the same reason,” Boljkovac said.

He explained Croat war-time leader Franjo Tudjman “wanted the war at any cost”:

“The war was not a necessity — it was an intention. According to Tudjman’s concept, Serbs had to disappear from Croatia,” Boljkovac stressed, adding he was against the war and didn’t allow Serbs who were serving in the police in Croatia to be fired which, in turn, made him a target for assassination by Croat emigration.

Boljkovac believes there was a secret “deal” between former Yugoslav and Serbian President Slobodan Milošević and Franjo Tuđman, Croatia’s war leader, “to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina and exchange the population through ethnic cleansing.” According to his theory, “Tuđman handed over Bosnian Posavina to Milošević, and Milošević helped Tuđman to get rid of Krajina Serbs”.

Boljkovac Confirmed What Serbia has been Saying for the Past Two Decades

No one was particularly surprised in Serbia by Boljkovac’s admission that Croat leadership instigated a civil war by launching planned attacks against Serbs in Croatia and Yugoslav Army.

Vladislav Jovanović, Yugoslav Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991-1995, told Glas Javnosti Boljkovac’s statement about Croatia bearing the exclusive responsibility for the war is absolutely correct.

– His testimony only further confirms what was known from day one and what Serbia has been pointing out for nearly two decades — that there was no “Serbian aggression” against Croatia; instead, Croatia Serbs were forced to defend themselves. That is Boljkovac’s hindsight for the factual state of affairs. After the “Storm” and “Lightning”, even Tuđman admitted the war was imperative for Croatia to secede, – Jovanović reminded.

On the other hand, Boljkovac’s theory about the conspiracy and alleged deal between Tuđman and Milošević is rejected as “pure speculation, fairly common in the West and Croatia, even though it is entirely unfounded”.

– As far as I am aware, there was no such deal, – Jovanović stressed.

Asked why Serbia stood by during the Krajina pogrom (Operation Storm, August 4-7, 1995), the single biggest act of ethnic cleansing during the civil wars in 1990s, when over 250,000 Serbs were expelled from Croatia, Jovanović said he believes late President Milošević was issued an ultimatum by United States.

– The day before the attack on Krajina, Milošević was visited by an American ambassador in Zagreb [Croatian capital], Peter Galbraith. I did not attend the meeting, but I believe Galbraith had put a knife under Milošević’s throat, warning him against Serbia’s involvement. I’m sure a direct threat of bombardment of Serbia was also issued, in order to prevent any Serbian military reaction, – Jovanović said.

Mixture of Facts and Fiction

Former head of Counter-Intelligence Service [Kontra-obavestajna sluzba, KOS], general Aca Vasiljević warned that Boljkovac is “mixing facts with fiction”.

– When he was in power, Boljkovac was a loyal and obedient servant, he was always eager to please, and he is now trying to justify his actions. It is common knowledge that Milošević and Tuđman were meeting, but it is entirely incorrect they had the kind of contacts Boljkovac describes. Tuđman had stated long time ago: “If we didn’t want the war, there wouldn’t have been any”, while Boljkovac was a proponent of the idea of an independent Croatia at any cost already back in the 1970s, in MASPOK. In the 1990s, he participated in the war, surrounded by the extremists, people who came from the terrorist wing of Ustasha organization, like Gojko Šušak, – Vasiljević said.

Živadin Jovanović, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia’s last foreign affairs minister, said it was good there is at least someone in Croatia who speaks “partial truth.”

– It is absolutely correct that was a civil war and there is no basis for charges of “aggression on Croatia”. I don’t know Boljkovac personally, but this wouldn’t be the first time former government members become wise after the fact. Hindsight wisdom is a trait of impaired politicians, even though it can be useful to historians. However, there is no basis for the claims civil war was a result of a secret deal between two men. The sole purpose of such theories is to cover up the essential fact, that Croatia’s strategy was secession, separatism and, as such, it enjoyed support of Germany, Austria, Hungary and Vatican, – Živadin Jovanović said.

Part of President Milošević’s Opening Statement in The Hague, Regarding War in Croatia

…There is a fundamental historical fact one must proceed from, in order to understand these events. This fact has been the source of everything that took place on the territory of Yugoslavia since 1991 until the present day, and it is the fact that what took place is the violent destruction of a European state — Yugoslavia — which was derived from the statehood of Serbia, the only ally of the democratic world in that whole region over the past two centuries.

There can be no doubt this fundamental historic fact is going to leave an imprint on European history in the times to come.

A multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-confessional state that had its historic and international legitimacy was destroyed in order to create ethnically pure mini-states in its territory, according to the diktat of Germany and Vatican, and assisted by the United States and the European Community.

…At this time, during the most critical period, Yugoslavia was presided by a representative from Croatia, Stjepan Mesić. Its Prime Minister at the time was also from Croatia, Ante Marković, as well as the Foreign Minister, also from Croatia, Budimir Lončar. In the entire top echelons of the Army, of which we could also be informed here, out of top 16 generals, only 2 were Serbs; most were Croats, Slovenians and of other ethnic backgrounds.

This state had a strong and well organized armed forces at its disposal [JNA], which could control the conflict and prevent the catastrophe altogether. However, this government allowed paramilitary formations, arms smugglers, criminals, even the narco-mafia—when we look at the end of this process in Kosovo and Metohija—to take over the terrain. But the said government acted in concert with the European Community, most notably with Germany and Vatican.

As early as the end of June 1991, European Community demanded that the legitimate armed forces must stay closed within the army barracks and refrain from any action — therefore, a voluntary transformation of a state army into a detainee in their own country. Naturally, this opened doors for the activities of the secessionists’ paramilitary formations.

…In Croatia, crimes against Serbs started even earlier, before the announcement of secession, using the same methods and in the same regions where the genocide against the Serbian nation started in 1941, by the Ustasha units in the so-called Independent State of Croatia [NDH, Hitler’s ally during the WWII].

International experts who have researched genocides that took place in different times and in different parts of the world, like Leo Cooper, Peter Drost, Ted Gertz, Louis Horowitz, George Cram and the others, arrived to a conclusion that genocide against one nation can be committed only once. Every second attempt inevitably turns into a civil war. This thesis has been confirmed in Croatia.

The genocide committed against the Serbs in Croatia in 1941, started by comprising lists and inviting population in groups to submit personal data. However, instead of submitting information, Serbs were being killed or taken to concentration camps. This time around, Serbs responded by resistance to similar invitations and similar actions, feeling gravely manipulated by the politicians who, up until the day before, spoke about protecting the ideals of brotherhood and unity, and who were now calling to war in the name of nationalist ideals.

Old Ustasha formulas were resurrected within somewhat refurbished packaging, along with the Ustasha symbols, and through the hurriedly rewritten laws, Serbs have lost their status of a constitutive nation. Without any prompting from the outside, without the Belgrade support, without the protection of the army isolated in the barracks, Serbs in Krajina were prepared to risk death through the struggle, but not a new genocide.

Long before the 1991 secession, armed paramilitaries operated through Croatia, the so-called “Voluntary units of the people’s protection”, which acted within the HDZ frameworks, and under different names: “Zebra”, “Black Legion”, “Vukovar Wolves” and so on.

On May 28, a month before the secession, a military parade was organized in Zagreb. It showcased weapons received primarily from Germany. These were the psychological preparations for what was to follow. In those days, Croat paramilitary units were transfered to Bosnia, since President Tudjman had announced renewal of “Croatia down to [river] Drina”.

After a decision to withdraw the JNA troops from Croatia was reached on July 18, 1991, the armed actions by the Croat paramilitary formations turned into a frontal war. From July 20 to August 4, 75 attacks against the JNA units were recorded, 23 attacks against the Army barracks, 13 attacks against the planes, all using the most advanced weapons from NATO arsenals.

Serbian houses were being torched and individual crimes against the Serbs were replaced with mass executions. In the cornfield near the village Jankovci 65 Serbs were slaughtered. They have all been identified. In the village Svinjarevo, 25 Serbs were slaughtered, and so on. The entire villages were destroyed in the regions of Papuk and Slunj.

The most widespread form of terror against the Serbian population were forced expulsions — the strongest link between the years 1941 and 1991.

These activities begun in Western Slavonija right after the HDZ victory in the elections. A psychosis of fear was created in order to force people to move out. Various methods were being employed, like orchestrated mocking of the Serbian children in schools, arresting people and taking them to police stations, cutting off the telephone lines, mass firing of Serbs from their jobs, dynamiting of their homes…

On October 29, 1991, the Crisis Office in Slavonska Pozega issued an order on eviction of the Serbian population from 24 villages: Oblakovac, Orjača, Slatina and so on, and within the next 48 hours. The order was made public via radio stations and press. Those who refused to comply were taken to detention camps.

The first major exodus of Serbs from the regions of Podravska Slatina and Daruvar took place. From July 1991 to August 1992, 193 villages populated by Serbs were ethnically cleansed. Reliable documents regarding all of this have been submitted to the European Community.

Croats Can't Shake Off Ustasha Mentality

In Bytes \'n Bits, Croatia, Earlier on January 29, 2009 at 4:00 am
Croat Serbophobia reaches frenzy

Antisemitism is Alive and Well in Croatia (and Now it can Bubble Forth Once Again)

In Croatia, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day has been marred by a series of incidents, which culminated with the threat of bomb being planted at the Jewish community center, forcing the evacuation of Jewish representatives and Beth Israel association from the Zagreb building, where they gathered to commemorate the Holocaust.

“From one certain telephone number, which seems to be a phone booth in Split [coastal town in Croatia], came a threat that a bomb was planted here, and that everything will blow into the air in one hour, with swearing on the account of Jews,” prominent Jewish publicist Slavko Goldstein said, adding that this is only one in a series of incidents and provocations aimed at Croatia Jews in the last few days.

Goldstein said Jewish community and organizations in Croatia are receiving numerous threatening letters almost daily, and mentioned other similar incidents, such as the one his friend witnessed few days ago, as he found himself in the company of Croats who decided “Hitler should have finished his job”.

“For the past ten years, I have been giving statements to the point that antisemitism is dying in this country,” Goldstein said.

“I’m now retracting those statements,” he said.

Manifestation of a Widespread Disease in the Croatian Society

At the same time, Croat national television aired a special in which popular Croat writer Vedrana Rudan compared Israel’s actions in Gaza to the Holocaust, concluding that “Jews should stop being Jews and finally become people”.

“Unfortunately, Mrs Rudan is the manifestation of a widespread disease that manifests itself in the Croatian society, and that is antisemitism,” Ivo Goldstein, President of the Jewish association Beth Israel commented, adding that his organization is considering filing a lawsuit against Rudan.

Despite the fact that Jewish community in Croatia clearly has reasons to be offended and to feel threatened, Croat media and their readers apparently believe it is the Jews who should be ashamed.

“However, the small Palestinian boy that died in an Israeli attack, that Rudan keeps on mentioning in her column, is a victim of Israeli politics, before which they [the Jews] cannot close their eyes”, says internet edition of Croat daily Javno, publishing, at the same time, a comment by a reader who poured the entire slew of antisemitic slurs, while congratulating Mrs. Rudan and praising her as “very smart”.

In the followup piece, titled “Antisemitism or Reality: Down On Your Knees Before Jewish Organizations”, the same magazine reveals Vedrana Rudan is a direct Ustasha descendent, whose “grandfather killed in Jasenovac”, an infamous complex of Croat WWII concentration camps, where 750,000 Serbs, 60,000 Jews and 30,000 Gypsies were brutally tortured, hacked to pieces and exterminated in most horrific ways.

But the daily insists Ms. Rudan should be allowed to preach to the state of Israel to her heart’s content, instead of worrying about the repeated genocides her state, with the help and participation of members of her own family, has committed.

Before Shedding Crocodile Tears Over Palestinians…

Just published Human Rights Watch Report 2009 clearly shows that Croat public and intelligentsia have plenty of human rights violations to worry about in their own midst — before shedding crocodile tears over Palestinians, Croats ought to take a closer look at the way they continue to treat Serbs.

The report points out that despite Croat government “declarations” and a lot of hot air, Serbs ethnically cleansed from Croatia during the 1990s civil war, almost two decades later, are continuously being discouraged from returning to their homes and repossessing their property, both by the Croat administrative apparatus and by the ethnically-based violence and hate crimes, for most of which the perpetrators are never identified.

Croatia: A Wall of Silence, Amnesty International

Stressing that Croat state is rigging the statistics, claiming that 125,000 Serbs (out of more than 250,000 ethnically cleansed only from the Serbian Krajina region in Croatia) have returned, while the actual number of returnees is nowhere near those claimed, the report explains:

“Most of the 231 displaced persons and 610 refugees who returned to their home areas during the first half of 2008 were ethnic Croats… Serb returnees continue to suffer violence and intimidation, particularly in north Dalmatia … Serbs continue to face difficulty repossessing occupied homes, despite court judgments in their favor. Repossession cases sometimes linger in the courts. There is still no effective remedy for those seeking the return of occupied agricultural land. At this writing, there are 7,743 pending appeals (mostly from Serbs) against rejected applications for reconstruction assistance”.

In addition, “there was no progress toward a viable solution for Serbs stripped during the war of the right to occupy socially-owned property (an impediment to Serb return to urban areas)”.

HRW 2009 Report, published on January 14, mentions an example of a violent incident Serbs expelled from Croatia were exposed to in March 2008, when a group of Croat thugs “stoned a house of a Serb returnee family in the area of Benkovac, injuring a family member”.

Pointing out a number of ways in which Croatia impedes the return of expelled Serbs, Human Rights Watch emphasizes that “Serbs continued to make up the majority of defendants in war crimes trials”, and are further threatened and prevented from returning to repossess their land and property by the infamous in absentia prosecutions, widely practiced by the Croat judiciary.

“In absentia prosecutions against Serbs continued in Vukovar, Sisak, and Osijek, despite opposition from the State Attorney’s Office. A similar trial in Rijeka appears to have been suspended indefinitely. Retrials began in three cases involving a total of four Serbs, after the Supreme Court overturned the previous in absentia convictions because of insufficient evidence or poorly reasoned judgments,” HRW report said, after informing that “impartiality and effectiveness of domestic war crimes prosecutions remains in doubt”.

Probably Right to Hide he is a Serb in Croatia

Rosemary Bailey Brown, American blogger popular in Serbia who is married to a Serb from Croatia, and currently living between the two states and towns of Belgrade and Zadar, recently offered a valuable insight into an uneasy feeling Serbs invariably get in Croatia, forcing them to hide their nationality in order to feel safer.

Writing about the beauty of a coastal town in Dalmatia where her husband was born, she admits “it’s all a bit hard to enjoy” for her, since she feels “that we never can really relax and be ourselves there”.

This is mostly “because ethnically my husband is a Serb”, Bailey Brown writes.

“Is being a Serb no big deal these days or do many in Zadar hate Serbs still? Most people who ‘knew all along’ are friendly to us; only a very few have been cold if not outright rude. Some friendly people who ‘find out’ become a little more distant. And, some people, we met while flat-hunting last year, I suspect would be uncomfortable if they knew they’d had a Serb in their homes,” she wrote.

“At my husband’s counsel, we stay undercover with strangers. He is a Croatian returning home from America and that is all. We do not mention our other home in Serbia. We do not mention in what specific year my husband first left Zadar. We do not mention the fact that his sister lives in Belgrade. We are glad our last name is generic enough to be either Serb or Croatian.”

“I ask my husband, ‘Is subterfuge really neccesary?’ He honestly doesn’t know. He’d rather be safe than sorry. And, as this recent news item shows, perhaps he’s smart to be that way,” Bailey Brown concludes.

Serbs, Eternal Witnesses to Croat Bestiality

The “news item” she refers to relates to the latest series of violent hate outbursts and incidents targeting Serbs which took place in Zadar, during the Handball World Championship to which Serbia’s national team went to compete.

Right at the start of the second round of matches in Zadar, on Friday, the town Mayor Živko Kolega first ordered removal of the Serbian national flag from Zadar’s central square, after “citizens complained because they were irritated by the Serbian flag”. Later, he decided it might be wise to try to cover up the virulent Serbophobia and ordered removal of all the flags representing 24 countries participating in the championship.

On the same day, an anonymous caller informed the police a bomb was planted at a hotel where Serbian team was staying. As it turned out, the call was placed from the offices of a local newspaper.

On Saturday, Serbian basketball club manager Marko Ivanović, who traveled to Croatia to attend the championship, had his car demolished.

A while later, Macedonian fan of the team was beaten up, because Croat thugs mistook him for a Serb.

According to the media reports, the matches Serbs played were accompanied by the incessant furious heckling of Serb players and thunderous shouts: “Kill, Kill, kill the Serb.”

The same “cannibalistic mood” towards Serbs (according to one Belgrade reporter who followed Serbian national team) was also obvious in Zagreb at the time, where Croats burned the Serbian flag at the city square, after tearing it down from the pavilion where following of the Handball Championship matches was organized.

Serbian MP Aleksandra Janković, psychologist by profession, explains rabid Croat hatred of Serbs in particular is pathological and rather incurable.

“There is a mechanism in psychology by which, once you harm someone, you make an effort to ‘finish the job’, so to speak, to take it to the end, so you wouldn’t have to face the consequences. Accordingly, ever since Jasenovac, Croats have been doing their very best to eradicate the Serbs completely, in order to wipe off the stains from their history. As long as we exist, Croats can never present themselves as good and wonderful, because there is always a witness to what they have done.”

Croat State Genocide Supported by Vatican, Germany and US

A Case Serbia Cannot Lose

Smilja Avramov: If the Court governs itself by the law, Serbia’s chances to prove Croat state genocide are at full hundred percent.

“Croatia has absolutely no chance of proving the alleged genocide it wants to pin Serbia with. It was indeed Croatia that has committed a horrific genocide against the Serbs under the auspices of Vatican, Germany and the United States. If the Court is going to govern itself exclusively by the law, Serbia has an ironclad case against Croatia,” Smilja Avramov, an International Law expert, told Belgrade daily Glas Javnosti.

She emphasized that Serbia should file a lawsuit, rather than a counter lawsuit against Croatia.

“This is an ideal opportunity to clearly prove the continuity of genocide [by the Croat state], of varying intensity, since 1941 until today”, Professor Avramov said.

There is a common belief that Serbia will legally have an easy task of proving the genocide Croat state has been carrying out against its Serbian population for decades, from Starčević, through Pavelić and Tuđman, down to Mesić, who brags that the genocidal “Storm”, a full-fledged pogrom over the Krajina Serbs, was a “legitimate action”.

Hundred Years of Unsurpassed Croat Cruelty to their Serbian Population

Milivoje Ivanišević, Director of the Center for Investigating the Crimes against the Serbian nation said his Center will provide the legal team representing Serbia before the International Court of Justice with a comprehensive documentation of chronologically confirmed Croat war crimes, ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Serbs.

“By the cruelty and bloodthirstiness Croats were a great role model for the Germans themselves and for their crimes in World War II. The lawsuit should include the killings of Serbs, it should list all the Croat concentration camps, deportations and destruction of property. It would be good to point out the data from the ledgers, beside the demographic one, as well as to highlight the continuous discrimination against the Serbs, especially between the two world wars,” Ivanišević stressed.

Prime Minister of Republic of Serbian Krajina in Exile Milorad Buha hopes the International Court of Justice will make it clear in its verdict that the Croat state had committed the crime of ethnic cleansing and genocide over the Krajina Serbs.

Serbs killed by Croat Ustashi during WWII
Slaughter of Croatia’s Serbs by the Croat Ustashi during World War Two

“Croat actions cannot be qualified in any other way. Croatia had expelled so many Serbs [in the 1990s] that, when both the territory of the Republic of Serbian Krajina and the territory of Croatia where there were no war activities are taken into account, the numbers are reaching 800,000. After the Court’s just verdict, the only thing left for the European Union, the United States and the Holy See will be to explain why have they used all the means to support and help Croat unconstitutional degradation of the constitutive nation of Croatia’s Serbs into an ethnic minority, and why did they aid Croatia in ethnically cleansing the Serbs — gradually since 1990, and then finally in the atrocious military aggression against the Republic of Srpska Krajina,” Buha said.

Serbia Tired of BS

Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremić said that Serbian lawsuit against Croatia is already prepared.

“The lawsuit is ready, it was being prepared for a long time, since we have been getting ready for all the possible options. We shall use all the time the International Court of Justice provides and we shall do our best to have the historical context adequately presented, so that all the crimes committed in the Independent State of Croatia [NDH] are revealed,” Jeremić said.

He said that Serbia is tired of apologizing and of being the only one at whom the fingers are pointed. According to Jeremić, this is a rather regrettable state of affairs, because both Serbia and Croatia ought to turn to their common future in the EU.

“If the countries like Germany and France, after hundred of years of war and destruction, have found the strength to turn to the European future and are today the closest possible allies, I believe Serbia and Croatia should also do the same,” Jeremić said.

Mass Murders, Concentration Camps, Forced Conversions, Deportations… Croat State has Done it All — Several Times Over

“Genocidal intentions of state of Croatia against its Serbian population during the entire 20th century can be very easily proven by Serbia,” Dr. Bogdan Zlatar, one of the co-authors of the book “Exterminating the Serbs in Croatia”, said.

In this important book, a one-of-a-kind dramatic testimony, prominent academicians and intellectuals such as Vasilije Krestić, Dejan Medaković, Mihailo Marković, Dragoljub Živojinović, Dragan Nedeljković, Bishop Athanasius of Zahum-Herzegovina Diocese, Veselin Đuretić, Smilja Avramov, Milan Bulajić, Nikola Gaćeša, Svetozar Livada, Djuro Zatezalo, Stevan Karamata and many others have given significant contribution.

Through the thoroughly evidenced genesis of Croat hatred towards the Serbs, the authors explain the historical roots of the conflict, religious intolerance, wiping out of the Serbian nation and culture in Croatia, and give the detail account of genocide against the Serbs from 1941 to 1995.

“Since the time of Starčević, the monstrous plan is being carefully implemented: a third of Serbs had to be killed, a third converted, and a third expelled. This was taken over by Pavelić and Tuđman, and carried through to this day, down to Stjepan Mesić,” Dr. Bogdan Zlatar told Glas Javnosti.

Bishop Athanasius notes in the book that the Roman Catholic Church in Croatia, with the blessing of Vatican and the Croat bishops headed by Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, forcefully converted 250,000 of Serbian Orthodox population.

Smilja Avramov wrote that the genocide against the Serbs was implemented through all sorts of different means and various kinds of physical and mental violence — through the synchronized mass murders in the houses and in open spaces, through the system of concentration camps, by the forced conversion of the Orthodox population into Roman Catholicism and the deportations.

“The pogrom technique was simple: people were invited to the gathering places in schools, churches or in the fields, with a note that they will be offered work. Once they took their money and valuables, Croats were killing them on the spot, or they would burn them alive in their houses and churches, like they did in [the town] Glina and in the villages surrounding Pakrac.

“They were commonly buried in smaller groups of 5-20 people, after they were forced to dig their own graves. In Slavonija, victims were dumped in the wells and in Herzegovina, Lika and Dalmatian Zagora they were thrown into the stone pits few dozens of meters deep. Stone pits as mass graves are the characteristic of the NDH [Independent State of Croatia] genocide, which distinguishes it from all the known cases of genocide in history,” Smilja Avramov explained in the book.

In only one of the most infamous concentration camps in Europe — Jasenovac — the Croats have killed over 750,000 Serbs, alongside tens of thousands of Jews and Roma. Croat state has completed its genocide against the Serbs at the end of 20th century, crowning it with a genocidal operation “Storm”, in August 1995, during which some 250,000 Serbs were expelled from Croatia, while several thousand were killed.

Croat State, a Genocidal Creation, Steps on a Slippery Slope

Croats Have Sued Themselves

Serbia will have no problems proving before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that Croat state is guilty of ethnic cleansing and genocide against its Serb population, the final episodes of which were the “Flash” and “Storm” mass pogroms, conducted in the summer of 1995, Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), member of the Serbian ruling coalition, stated today.

“No one can deny the truth that in the actions ‘Flash’ and ‘Storm’ over a quarter of million of Serbs were expelled, while several thousand of them were killed and gone missing. Serbia must not fail to use this opportunity to familiarize the International Court of Justice with the genocide Croat Ustasha state had committed during the Second World War over the Serbs, Jews and Roma population,” SPO said in a statement, concluding that, by suing Serbia, Croatia had “filed a lawsuit against itself”.

Serbian Government Assigns Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Sue Croatia for Genocide

The SPO statement follows today’s announcement that Serbian Government has ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take all the necessary steps to initiate a counter lawsuit against the Croat state, instructing “forming of the legal team to establish the full truth about the conflict and crimes committed on the territory of Croatia during the armed conflict in the period from 1991 to 1995.”

According to the President of the Foundation for Genocide Research, Dr. Milan Bulajić, Serbia’s lawsuit will have to point out the horrific continuity of the crimes and genocide Croat state has been committing against the Serbs.

“The claim should remind of the countless bloodcurdling crimes during the so-called Independent State of Croatia [NDH], a state allied with Nazi Germany. At that time, in Croat death camps over 750,000 people, mostly Serbs, but also Jews and Roma were butchered in the most monstrous ways. It will also be necessary to list all the other numerous Croat crimes, especially in the period from 1990. to 1995, such as the crimes in Gospić, at the Koran Bridge, in Bjelovar, Medak Pocket, Maslenica, Lora death camp… all the way down to the ‘Flash’ and, finally, ‘Storm’,” Milan Bulajić stressed.

Croat Allies Give Croatia “No Chance” of Succeeding

Interestingly enough, even the most fervent Croat supporters in the German and Austrian press have given it slim to no chances of getting anywhere with the lawsuit against Serbia, and even before Serbia had announced filing a counter lawsuit.

Thus, two days ago Vienna daily Standard commented ICJ’s decision to declare itself competent to hear out Croat lawsuit in a rather straightforward manner, asserting that “Croat lawsuit won’t get anywhere”.

“It must be clear to everyone by now that Croatia can’t pull through with that lawsuit and that Serbia will most probably respond with a counter lawsuit,” Austrian daily wrote, assessing that the “generally poor bilateral relations will now get worse”.

Perhaps the Croat leadership, a leftover hanging on from the war times and the 1990s — Mesić and Sanader — should have thought about that before leaping.
